What is Orthonet?
Blue Cross, Healthnet, Aetna and Cigna all use Orthonet to manage their physical therapy.
That means that all physical therapy is authorized through this company. The first visit does not need to be authorized.
In the event that I have one of the above insurances do I have to get authorized for physical therapy before I visit your office ?
No Orthonet requires that physical therapy is authorized after the first visit.
Do all plans belonging to the above insurances require Orthonet authorizations?
No absolutely not – most of the plans do – but we can tell you if your plan needs this authorization.
As the patient what do I have to do?
Nothing – we will take care of all of the authorizations- we will tell you how many visits you were authorized for – we will tell you when we have more visits authorized – Unfortunately the authorizations come with a time limit – we do not stipulate this time limit, but we have to adhere to it – as the benefit are only covered in the Orthonet specified time limit.
